These signs appear to be warnings to those on the road. This can be determined due to their bright yellow (a common color to warn) colored background. Warning signs are commonly shaped as diamonds, perhaps to differentiate them from other signs that can be seen while driving. Two of the three pictured to the left are diamond shaped, whereas the third is a square. This might be attributed to the amount of information contained on the third sign. Perhaps there was too much that needed to be said and a diamond-shaped sign would not suffice in that respect. The black objects displayed on the signs (the swerving vehicle, the horse and buggy) stand out significantly against the yellow background.
